Most of us have had a cheap kayak or canoe over the years, perhaps it was a freebee or a hand-me-down,  or an online special, but we found out quickly the first time we loaded- and then unloaded; we were too pooped to paddle. Did you get a great deal...on something you won't use? Is portage merely a dream? It's time to buy a canoe that you will actually use.

What is Ultralight?
Slipstream ultralight canoes typically weigh 14lbs on up.  You may find that many 'lightweight' canoes or kayaks are over 35lbs and quite expensive.  Slipstream provides a tremendous value as you save weight, and money.

Ultralight canoes can be durable!
When it comes to layups such as Kevlar/Carbon Fiber hybrid, it is light and yet has some flex.  Innegra/Basalt/Kevlar/Carbon Fiber hybrid offers even more resilience when encountering rock gardens, and the weight gain is very minimal, if at all.

​Comfortable and Stabile
  • Our padded cushion seats with back support are much more comfortable than sitting on a flat wood or aluminum seat.
  • Sitting a few inches off the hull greatly adds to stability by lowering the center of gravity, so tipping over is not an issue.
  • Paddle with 1 or 2 bladed paddles with our 10'6" thru 13' ultralight canoes.
  • Think of it like having an 'open' kayak; you save tremendous weight, and it's easier to load with gear, and easier to carry.

Return policy:  
Once the canoe is in your possession, we do not allow returns unless the canoe is defective.​
There is no expressed warranty from Slipstream Watercraft, nor Ultralight Paddling. But if something is not right for some reason, Ultralight Padding and Slipstream will try their hardest to fix it.
If you damage the canoe while using it, Slipstream can very likely repair it for a modest cost, but you must pay for canoe transport to/from Slipstream waterworks. Please contact us first.
